Coca-Cola Move

Coca-Cola Creations has released their first flavor of 2023: Coca-Cola Move. This flavor is apparently another collaboration with a creator, and this time the creator is Rosalía.

The company claims that Move is their boldest and edgiest Coca-Cola Creations flavor yet, though I would have to say that Starlight was their boldest, because Starlight was the first Coca-Cola Creation, which came as a great surprise, and because its space theme is the most awe-inspiring.

Prior to the releasing of this flavor, I had neither heard of this person nor her music, which caused me to feel out of the loop. Even if this is an ultra popular artist and I’m simply clueless, a portion of your audience may feel alienated if you choose an artist as a theme. I know it is impossible to please everyone, but I think it would be better to adhere to themes that may relate to more people, similar to some of Coca-Cola’s previous flavors that were based on dreams and space.

The name also feels too brief and generic; while it is desirable to have a concise name or title, it is generally undesirable to have one that is too vague.

How does Coca-Cola Move Look?

The design isn’t terrible, however, I think it may have been interesting to use the pink as the entire background color, which could be viewed as a kind of lighter version of the original red of Coca-Cola.

Coca-Cola claims that the sketches in the design are ones that Rosalía drew while sampling Coca-Cola Move during a creative workshop.

The liquid itself is the same, unimpressive brown. Yet again, Starlight remains the most strikingly colored Coca-Cola Creations flavor.

What does Coca-Cola Move taste like?

This flavor is very light and sweet, and the classic Coca-Cola flavor shines through. The only way I could describe the sweet flavor is like a French Vanilla jelly bean.

Additionally, it was not a fragrant beverage; after being poured into a glass and becoming mildly flat, it smelled sweet and similar to vanilla, but when smelled directly from the can, it was more like regular Coca-Cola.

P.S. after describing the specific vanilla flavor that I tasted to an undisclosed person, I was strictly informed that this flavor is most definitely coconut and not vanilla (their strictness was merely for humor). I’m used to unsweetened coconut, and I suppose the vanilla I am tasting is a sweetened coconut flavor.

It could be argued that Coca-Cola Move has a dual flavor: if you think of it as vanilla, it tastes like vanilla, but if you think of it as coconut, it is coconut. Either way, it’s somewhat monotone, and certainly not as amazing as some of the previous flavors.

Here are some opinions of others:

It smells like coconut. It tastes like coconut. I hate coconut! It’s good.
